About

Glenn Spiess has been a proud Albertan all his life. Born in Brooks he later attended schools in Southern Alberta in both the Public and Separate school systems. He earned his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta in 1992 and his professional teaching career has been unique and varied. He has worked as a teacher in the private, the public and the separate school systems including the St. Paul Education Regional Division #1. His student populations have included rural and urban Albertans and First Nations and home educators.

He believes that strong families build a healthy society and embraces this reality in his life. After school hours, he hobby farms with his wife of 25 years and their two sons near Myrnam, Alberta. His daughter is attending University in Edmonton.

Glenn believes that Alberta has the potential to be a leader in safeguarding freedoms inherent to a democratic society. Based on his own personal experiences in the education field, he supports educational choice, believing that having a variety of options increases competency, strengthens best practices and ultimately benefits student success.

His philosophy of personal freedom is not limited to the field of education but extends to other major sectors of our economy. Letting free enterprise and the free market influence innovation and creativity rather than government imposed laws that continue to impinge on every facet of an individuals life is key to a healthy province and a healthy economy.

Ultimately, Glenn believes that the preservation of individual liberties and freedoms allows for the inexhaustible creativity of the Alberta population to flourish. The government is not in place to "rule" its people but to govern.

We all need to do our part to ensure our hard-earned freedoms are upheld and protected. Glenn for his part is willing to run and ultimately serve as your MLA in the Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St Paul Constituency. He hopes that he can count on your support as he seeks to win the nomination for the United Conservative Party.
